NEWSLETTER/WHAT’S ON from the BYC Secretary

BOAT OWNERS – SUMMER MOORING & STORAGE FORMS, deadline for return 15th February and Moorings Meeting, Thursday, 7th March at 20:00 in the clubhouse.

MEMBERS – Film Production Company – preparatory works are underway in the compound up to Monday, 5th February, they are filming in the tunnel on Tuesday, 6th and Wednesday, 7th February, on these two days the crew are using the clubhouse room for eating their lunch, these will be the busiest days in terms of vehicles at the club, after this they will strike down and leave the club on Wednesday, 14th February.

Message from Jen Haig-Harrison – There is a change of speaker on Thursday, 8th February, please welcome BYC member Dave Green with undoubtedly humorous stories of his experiences of the Cod Wars: Fish & Ships, thank you to Dave for stepping in at short notice, he was to have given this talk next season but we can now look forward to an earlier treat!  Although Dave needs no introduction at BYC, I did ask him for a brief bio for next year’s programme.  Here it is ….

Dave, (did I ever tell you I was in the Royal Navy?) Green, BYC member.  Fish & Ships – my experience of the Cod War.  So come along on Thursday, 8th February, for what promises to be a very entertaining and interesting talk.

There is a Wake in the clubhouse on Friday, 26th January, from 13:30 until early evening, members that aren’t attending are asked to please use the lounge.  Please leave as much parking space as possible on this day a large turnout is expected. The film production company has also been made aware. Thank you.

THURSDAY,  25th JANUARY – WINTER TALKS PROGRAMME – SCAM ALERT 

Detective Sergeants Ian Roche & Tyrone Peach from the Economic & Cyber Crime Unit, South Wales Police will update us on the newest scams and advise how to avoid becoming a victim.

Bar Open at 17:00 – meals are being served, the talk starts at 20:00 lasting no more than an hour.
