In response to our individual and collective sense of concern, Barry Yacht Club Social Committee have organised a fundraising event in which all profits raised from a supper and raffle will go to the Emergency Disasters Committee for the people of Ukraine. With TV, radio and other media reporting and documenting the horrendous attacks and tragic consequences, a number of members felt a need to do something which might help the plight of thousands who are now displaced and suffering.

On Friday 18th March the bar will open at 6.30pm and from 7.30pm the club will host a Quiz night and simple supper with guests paying a minimum donation of £10pp.

Popular Quiz Master Len Cattle is currently shaping his agenda of questions and several raffle prizes have been sourced and donated by local businesses. The Quiz for Crisis event promises to be enjoyable socially, but most importantly, it will be an evening where members and guests can be as generous as they wish and confident that the help will be delivered directly to where it is needed…to those people of the Ukraine in dire need and crisis conditions! 1. How do I book?

A £10 minimum donation can be paid at THE COMPASS BAR during Opening Hours.

2. What is the simple supper menu?

Select from Traditional Beef Chilli Con Carne and rice or Vegetarian Chilli and rice.

3. Who records my menu choice and those of my guests?

Jen is recording all menu choices which will be systematically listed for Chef Linda.

4. Is there a cut-off date for buying a place at the Quiz for Crisis event?

Yes, we have a maximum of 70 places to allocate so its first come first served and the closing date is Wednesday 16th March.

5. What is the maximum team size for the Quiz?

Between 6 and 8 people. Any individuals, couples or pairs arriving may wish to join up into foursomes or larger groups [ more brains to help win !]

6. Can I offer help before or on the evening itself?

Yes indeed, we welcome any further raffle prizes, and you may wish to help sell some tickets during the evening with one of the Social Committee as a partner. Contact Jen or any member of the Social Committee if you can offer help.
